I consider myself aContemporary/Traditional Bluegrass Banjo Player who practices the "4 T's" --> Timing, Tuning, Technique and Taste!
My two biggest influences are Don Reno and Don Wayne Reno, and I love to pull out an old Reno tune from the 50's for fun and see how fast I can single-string a break!
Here are some playing samples:
My 'axe' is a Tennessee Maple Signature model with a radius fingerboard crafted by Mark Taylor and Crafters of Tennessee (wow, those guys are great), and with it, I've won over 100 ribbons and trophies in the last few years, including Fiddlers Grove North Carolina and Galax Fiddlers Convention.
I'm looking for a very tight bluegrass unit in the northern Virginia, Shenandoah Valley, Maryland, or D.C. area --> a group that will make me work hard and better my playing, because I am every trying to broaden my playing styles.
