I am Melvin (Ted) Jenkins.  I am rehearsing a group of professional musicians in Frederick, MD to play old school soul, blues, and R & B.  We are seeking a second vocalist, male or female.  We rehearse weekly at the Cafe 611, at 611 N. Market St from 8 to 10 PM.  The Cafe 611 is one of the largest dance clubs in Frederick and is open for business during our rehearsal.   Connie Guy (www.connieguy.com) and I have worked together for over 20 years, have toured internationally, and currently gig regularly in this area with our jazz trio or quartet.  We will begin booking this dance band - The Melvin Jenkins Band - as soon as we have our three piece horn section tightened up.   Please send and mp3 of yourself, with or without accompaniment to me at ted@connieguy.com, or contact me at 301-639-8338 for more information or to set up an audition.
