The Front Porch is a non-profit roots music school based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Our  warm, family-friendly environment is a place where inspiration happens: we host classes, workshops, master classes, weekly jams, and performances. Our talented instructors, each professional musicians themselves, offer lessons and group classes in a variety of musical styles, including bluegrass, old time, gospel, acoustic blues, and folk. We are dedicated to educating and experiencing traditional, roots, and folk music and dance.

Weekly Jams

Bluegrass Jam every Monday at 7 PM

Blues Jam every Tuesday at 7 PM

Old Time Jam on the second Thursday of every month at 7 PM

Every Saturday at 11 AM we host the West African Drum Ensembles open drum circle

Our partners at C-ville Hoedown square and contra dances first and third Thursdays of the month

Swing Dance every Wednesday from 7 PM to 10:30 PM with SwingCville
