Leo,
I play a small drum kit (18" bass drum) which is nice for small rooms.
Your opportunity sounds like fun.
My issue would be that I teach music in Luray on tuesdays until 7:30 p.m.
I would not be opposed to trying to shift my schedule slightly if I could make it work.
Feel free to contact me via emai.
thanks - Mark

My name is Leo J. Bailey and I currently host the Open Mic and do all the entertainment booking for Cristina's Cafe in Strasburg, Va. I've also been given the opportunity to put together a "house Band" of blues/roots based material.

As it stands now, I have a good line on a guitarist and a vocalist with myself on bass, but we are in need of a drummer.

The biggest challenge is finding someone interested in the material and someone who can play to the dynamics of the venue. The Cafe isn't that big and a heavy band is just too much for the room. We have had a three piece blues band that knew how to handle the space so we know it can be done.

I want to be honest up front...It won't be for much money, we'll only gig about every other month (and only at the Cafe) and only two sets per gig as we will have a different acoustic solo opening act for extra exposure for artists. We will however have free rehearsal space at the venue every Tuesday evening (when they are closed for normal business). After the core group is formed we'll bring in different instruments on a guest basis depending on the gig.

If this seems interesting and entertaining to you, drop me a line.
