I played in and managed the Waynesville Wildcats jazz band out of Waynesville NC, just outside of Asheville, for almost 6 years (see www.sunrise-entertainment.com\wildcats.htm).

My wife & I just moved to Lexington VA area and I am eager to build a new jazz band that can play at black tie affairs, weddings, country clubs, corporate events, high-end restaurants, and classy venues in the region. I'm talking about the jazz standards from the stellar performers: Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Diana Krall, et al. I want this band to be good enough to play behind any guest singer or instrumentalist that we invite & feature for a particular gig, and I want the ballroom dancers to be seeking us out for their big events. We are going to need a top-shelf pianist,  a superb upright bass player, a smooth jazz guitarist, and a versatile brass player (trumpet & sax?). I can supply the sound system, practice studio, session & demo recording, web marketing, and other promotional assistance.
